At the end of the first session, evaluation forms were distributed and completed by the participants to get an overview of how the introductory session was and what they expect going forward. Based on their submissions, the following deductions were made;
- 99% of the participants learnt new things from the brief lecture made by Fritz while the 1% seem to not have learnt anything new. This is a clear indication that the participants were attentive during the session.
- Generally, the participants agreed that the methods used by the resource with emphasis on the lecture, group work and general discussions were very good.
- Generally, according to the order of significance, the new things learnt by the participants were Teamwork, Tolerance, Punctuality, Respect, Confidence, the purpose of ABANTU, Coordination and the Different Political Ideology,
- On the average, the participants felt the delivery of the module was very good.
- Going forward, the participants expect to get handouts which will serve as a reference points after the end of a module, more clarity on information given, the use of audio visuals during presentations, a suggestion box for comments and more female moderators.
The welcome reception for the participants started after 5:00 pm and ended at 9:00 pm. This was a platform given to the participants to engage among themselves and some alumni who graced the occasion to know each other better amidst drinking, eating and dancing. On the whole, the participants agreed the training highly educative, hence they look forward to more interactive and interesting sessions. The date for the next session is on 17th and 18th of March, 2018.
